The Canon CINE-SERVO 50-1000mm T5.0-8.9 with PL Mount combines the form factor of a broadcast lens with the precision of a cinema zoom. It is designed for Super 35 cinema cameras and supports 4K acquisition. The lens has a detachable drive mechanism and rod attachment support, making it suitable for both solo camera operators and full production teams. It offers a 20x optical zoom and a focal length range of 50 to 1000mm with a maximum T stop of 5.0 at the wide end. The lens also includes a built-in 1.5x extender for a zoom range of 75 to 1500mm, enabling 4K resolution.
With 180° of focus rotation, the lens allows for precise focus pulls and is marked in feet and meters. The detachable drive unit can be removed and reattached without re-calibration, and it offers motorized zoom speeds ranging from 1.5 seconds to 180 seconds. The zoom control features a mini-LCD that displays zoom, focus, and iris settings. The lens mount supports electronic signal pass through, allowing for EOS lens data management functions. Additionally, the lens has a built-in 12-pin connector for compatibility with standard broadcast connectors. Its 11-blade iris creates circular out of focus highlights and a natural-looking Bokeh effect.
