Description

The QuNeo 3-D Multi-Touch Pad Controller from Keith McMillen Instruments is a new incarnation of drum pad controller for electronic musicians, DJs, VJs and DIY hackers. Endorsed by Dubspot artists such as Thavius Beck, it features all the functionality of other pad controllers but goes even further, adding the power of advanced touch recognition and thus providing access to a whole new dimension of musical expression. Made of plastic and highly affordable, the QuNeo will wow you with its capabilities.

The controller boasts 27 tactile pads, sliders and rotary sensors, which are pressure-, velocity- and location-sensitive. The 17 switches, too, respond to how hard they are pressed. A stunning illumination design joins variably diffusive elastomers and 251 multi-colour LEDs to offer instantly responsive, delightfully informative visual feedback. Experience remarkable light, sound and feel, all of which combine to make your experience unlike any you'll find with another controller on the market.

A total of 16 square pads each give you an impressive 127 velocity response levels, plus X-Y location and continuous pressure. The pads can flash in sync with the beats or provide feedback on how hard you'Voe hit them. Dual rotary sensors enable you to scrub, trigger, stretch, pinch and play phrases and audio files, as well as operate continuous controllers and more! Each of the sensors measures angle, pressure and distance from the centre.

There are also 9 touch-sensitive sliders, which are capable of being mapped to fader and effects controls. LEDs within each of these sliders behave as VU metres, flashing green, yellow and then red for peak, or as reminders of what you'Voe touched. Multi-touch capability allows you to choose a length between 2 fingers to designate stereo locations or filter resonances. The simple act of tapping a slider can mute or toggle any track or function.

The switches on the QuNeo are found in intelligent groupings to choose samples, fader banks, and transport controls. All of the switches can scan up and down through files at speeds that vary with your touch. These tools are ideal for quickly finding that perfect fill or letting your looper know you really meant it.

The same size as an iPad, the compact, feature-packed QuNeo fits in accessories designed for Apple's superstar tablet, including mic clips, stands and more. Connecting to your computer via mini USB, the bus-powered controller communicates with your preferred music software environments right out of the box. QuNeo can send data via MIDI without requiring a driver, or switch into OSC mode and transmit using an intermediary application. It's also designed to work with Ableton Live or Traktor. The more sophisticated users and programmers out there will be able to employ the development kit and API to produce their own code to respond to QuNeo's sensor data. Hack away to manage your world in ways you only imagined before. The device is Windows and Mac compatible.
