The Litepanels Sola 4 Third Generation LED Fresnel Light reaffirms the company's commitment to an ongoing evolution of quality and innovation with the introduction a 3rd generation Sola 4 that builds on the solid foundation of the 2nd generation. Improvements include better thermal management through advanced hardware and software and a new 5,600K LED source based on the phosphor mix research that brought us the Sola 12. These changes directly affect advanced color rendering and extend the life of the fixture.
The 2nd generation Sola 4 was already a success so little has changed in the physical appearance and core features of the new Sola 4. At 13-72 degrees, the 4" Fresnel has an impressively wide range of spot-to-flood adjustment and an output comparable to a 125W HMI Fresnel, while drawing only 39W of power. It's also barely warm to the touch. Elimination of potential heat damage, low power consumption and reduced HVAC costs in the studio not only yield personal comfort and safety, but an accelerated return on investment, as well.
Control is at the heart of the Sola 4 design. 100-0% dimming can be done locally or remotely from a console with DMX. The Sola 4 runs on 120-240 VAC mains power for worldwide use but can also run on optional 14-28 VDC battery sources. The lack of an external ballast trims down the fixture's form factor and allows it to weigh in at 3.6 lb. Four-way barndoors are included for even greater control of the Sola 4's beam spread.
