Enjoy an immersive surround sound experience with the Onkyo HT-S7800 5.1.2-Channel Atmos-Enabled Smart Home Theatre System . It delivers up to 100W per channel at 8 Ohms for robust audio playback. The receiver has built-in Bluetooth 4.1 technology, which allows you to wirelessly stream music from compatible audio sources such as computers, MP3 players, smartphones, and tablets.

Additional connectivity includes eight HDMI inputs (including one on the front), two composite video, two component video, two optical, one digital coaxial, one 3.5mm aux, and seven stereo RCA audio inputs, one of which is a dedicated phono input. The HDMI ports support 4K resolution, which can be passed through to your display via one of the two HDMI outputs, which supports ARC for the reproduction of display-based audio, such as that from built-in apps like Netflix or YouTube.

The included speaker package features a 5.1.2-channel configuration: two front speakers with up-firing Atmos speakers built-in for an enhanced soundstage; a centre channel; two surround speakers; and a 10" powered subwoofer.

An Additional Dimension of Sound

The 2-way bass reflex front left and right speaker cabinets also house the full-range acoustic-suspension Dolby Atmos-enabled height speakers. Besides producing enhanced traditional surround sound, each speaker in this 5.1.2 package is designed to reproduce object-based surround sound.

Multi-Zone Audio

The HT-S7800's powered Zone 2 brings audio to speakers connected to the receiver in a second room. With the dedicated Zone 2 DAC for Nett & SPDIF, you can send internet audio and digital audio sources connected via coax or optical to your second listening zone.

Supports Dolby Atmos up to 5.1.2 Channels

Dolby Atmos technology is designed to move sound around you in three-dimensional space, so you feel like you're in the middle of the action. Sound designers and artists mix in a 3D space, steering effects through surround channels and adding an overhead dimension with discrete height channels. Additionally, the Dolby surround up-mixer processes content not mixed for Dolby Atmos to fill the flexible speaker layouts of a Dolby Atmos system.

DTS:X-Ready

DTS:X is an object-based surround sound technology that includes height channels for a fully-immersive listening experience. DTS:X provides listeners flexibility, immersion, and interactivity. You will be able to personalise your audio experience, for example, by turning up just the dialogue within a mix. DTS:X allows you to customise to your room layout as well as control dialogue and dynamic range. This feature will be available with a future firmware upgrade.

4K UltraHD Video Performance

The HT-S7800's HDMI specifications and HDCP 2.2 compatibility (on HDMI inputs 1-3) support an increase in bandwidth (up to 18 Gbps) to support features such as 4:4:4 colour space and 4K @ 50/60 Hz (2160p), which is four times the resolution of 1080p/60 Hz. The HT-S7800 enables transmission of High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats, with BT.2020 support, and provides enhanced picture quality by simultaneously enabling greater detail for both the dark and bright parts of an image. The HT-S7800 also upscales 1080p video to 4K UltraHD.

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Connectivity with Pandoura, Spotify, and AirPlay

The HT-S7800 has AirPlay, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technologies built-in. Stream virtually any audio from a smartphone, tablet, or computer to your home theatre for powerful sound. With Spotify, Pandoura, and TuneIn built-in, you can select a station and search for music available on these services via the Onkyo Remote app on your phone. The free Onkyo Remote app puts a range of streaming options at your fingertips, from universal hi-res audio via network-attached devices to internet streaming services to music on your smartphone and tablet. Tidal and Google Cast will be operable with an upcoming firmware update.

384 kHz/32-Bit DAC

An AK4458 digital-to-analogue convertor from Asahi Kasei implements low-distortion filtering technologies for clear sound from nearly any audio format, including compressed, lossless, and hi-res audio (MP3, WMA, WMA Lossless, FLAC, WAV, OggVorbis, AAC, Apple Lossless, DSD 5.6 MHz, LPCM, and Dolby TrueHD).

AccuEQ with AccuReflex

AccuEQ conducts two measurements. The first sets the level, distance, and crossover for all the speakers, including the subwoofer. Choose to include or bypass AEQ measurement for front left and right speakers, and choose to automatically or manually set the AEQ. Further, you can save your own manual AEQ settings into three available presets. The AccuReflex technology is designed to align the phase of up-firing "height" speakers with the sound coming directly from your other speakers. Any delay is resolved so that everything arrives at your ears at the same time for a more cohesive reproduction of object-based soundtracks.

FireConnect Multi-Room Audio-Ready

A firmware update will enable any audio source connected to the receiver to be sent wirelessly via FireConnect (powered by Blackfire) to an optional FireConnect-capable speaker placed anywhere in your home.
