Description
Photographers looking for a beautifully designed tripod with a great strength to size and weight ratio will appreciate the Carbon Fibre Travel Tripod from Peak Design . Architecturally inspired, and weighing only 1.2 kg, this innovative tripod reduces folded volume thanks to legs that store closer together than traditional tripods. When folded, the tripod is roughly as thick as a water bottle. Boasting impressive specs, the tripod height adjusts from 5.5 to 60", folds down to only 15.5", holds up to 9 kg, and is constructed from carbon fibre. For fast deployment, the five-section aluminium leg cams can be released at the same time. Ground-level shots are quickly captured by simply reversing the centre column.
Epitomizing the expression less is more, is an impressive ergonomic ball head that replaces cumbersome knobs and levers with space-saving locking and adjustment rings. The rings facilitate omnidirectional movements that are locked in place with a simple twist. Crowning the ball head is a quick release system compatible with Peak Design standard plates, and most Arca-type plates. Arca-type L-brackets can be attached by removing the safety pin inside the clamp. Under the centre column is a hook for attaching a stabilising weight.
Included with the tripod are a handsome fabric storage case, a mobile mount, 2.5 and 4mm hex wrenches, and a bushing removal tool.

I just received my Peak Design Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod this morning (15th May 2020) and after unpacking, I immediately took it out for a test-drive. I attached a Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM lens to a Canon EOS 5D Mk.IV body, mounted it on the tripod, then captured a few images. I then switched to a Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens with the same 5D body and used the mount on the lens to attach to the tripod. This particular lens is a very heavy beast, but the tripod supported it really well. This tripod is an extremely well-engineered piece of kit, has a really solid feel to it and is very rigid. It is incredibly stable with the legs fully-extended and also with the legs not extended, but used as a table-top tripod, such as on a picnic table (you can rotate the legs further outwards to give increased stability). This tripod is easy to use and I am really looking forward to it being part of my travel kit and would highly recommend it to anybody who is looking for a good travel tripod.Read more Read less
