The Solo10G Thunderbolt 2 adapter can enable up to 10 Gb/s data speeds over Cat 6 or Cat 6a cables, or up to 5 Gb/s speeds over Cat 5e cabling. Housed in an aluminium shell, the adapter supports Audio Video Bridging, which is ideal for pro audio and video applications, while Energy Efficient Ethernet support helps to reduce power consumption. The adapter is compatible with both macOS and Windows systems.

NBASE-T Support

The Solo10G adapter supports the NBASE-T industry standard of 2.5/5 Gb/s link speeds, which enables multi-Gigabit Ethernet speeds over up to 328.1' of Cat 5e or better cabling when used with an NBASE-T-compatible switch or router. This allows you to deploy the same adapter across your organisation for users supported by different Ethernet cabling infrastructures.

Low-cost adapter connects to 10GbE infrastructure via inexpensive Cat 6 or Cat 6a cables at distances up to 180.4' or 328.1', respectively.

20 Gb/s Thunderbolt 2 Interface

Replaceable Captive Cable

Equipped with a captive cable, the Solo10G adapter's Thunderbolt 2 connector is designed to remain firmly connected without being soldered in place. Should the cable ever break, it can easily be replaced with an approved replacement cable available from Sonnet or a Sonnet-authorised reseller.

The Solo10G Thunderbolt 2 adapter was engineered with essential security features. Incorporating hardware encryption, the Sonnet network adapter is protected against malicious firmware modification that could allow covert computer access. Any unauthorised attempt to modify the firmware renders the adapter inoperable. These security features prevent the Solo10G adapter from being reprogrammed without the use of a secure encryption key.
