With all the features needed to record great vocal or instrument tracks, the Solid State Logic Alpha Channel Rackmount Analog Channel Strip with Built-In ADC offers a studio class mic pre and processing based on SSL’s years of experience in designing the world’s leading analogue recording consoles. A huge proportion of the music you know and love was recorded on SSL, renowned for the superior audio qualities you’ve heard on countless hit records. That elusive sonic ingredient is here in the Alpha Channel.

- Transparent SSL mic preamp with 75 dB of gain and Hi-Z impedance switch
- Built-in VHD (Variable Harmonic Drive) circuit—first featured on SSL's flagship Duality console—adds level-dependent coloration from warm 2nd harmonics to aggressive 3rd harmonics
- High-pass filter selectable at 40/80/120 Hz
- 3-band EQ with mid-frequency Q control and selectable shelf/bell low-frequency mode
- Selectable intelligent auto limiting maximizes headroom and avoids ADC clipping
- Front-panel XLR-1/4" combo jack for mic, line, or instrument input
- Auto-sensing 1/4" Hi-Z input with passive DI-type impedance detection and level matching
- Integrated 24-bit / 192 kHz ADC (analog-to-digital converter)
- 1/4" TRS analog output and S/PDIF digital output
- Automatic sample rate synchronization to incoming digital signal
- 6-segment LED output meter
- 1/4" insert send and return can be positioned before or after the EQ
- Sum switch mixes the insert send with the insert return
- Dedicated switches for polarity, -20 dB pad, and phantom power
- Connect multiple Alpha Channels via DC sidechain link RCA jacks to achieve the same degree of limiting on the connected units
