The DVI Detective Plus from Gefen is a device that ensures display information is not lost when switching or changing connections with computer or HDTV displays. Use this device to retain configuration settings even when you disconnect or switch equipment, saving time and facilitating management of your AV or home theatre setup.
Display data is typically communicated through a standard known as EDID, which identifies attributes such as display resolution and frequency. The DVI Detective Plus stores this data internally, ensuring it is available when reconnection is established.
After initially programming the unit, no power is required. It can be used to store up to (4) built-in manually selectable EDID profiles with multi-channel audio and standard HDTV resolutions. It supports resolutions up to 3840 x 2400.
