Gigabyte GA-B85M-HD3-A Motherboard

The GA-B85M-HD3-A Motherboard from Gigabyte is designed to fit in cases that support the Micro ATX Form Factor. It supports Intel Core i7, i5, i3, Pentium, and Celeron processors in the LGA1150 package. This motherboard also uses an Intel B85 express chipset and has been designed to bring together a blend of features and technologies that offer the strong base platform for your next PC build. The GA-B85M-HD3-A Motherboard supports Windows 8.1, 8, and 7 operating systems. Linux is also supported, so long as the chipset vendors provide driver support, and Windows 9X/ME/2000/XP is only supported if the drivers are updated on Gigabyte's website.

The Micro ATX form factor of the GA-B85M-HD3-A has 2 x DIMM sockets that can support up to 16GB of 1600/1333 MHz non-ECC memory modules for dual channel memory architecture. Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) modules are also supported and the GA-B85M-HD3-A has a total of 4 x SATA III 6 Gb/s ports, 2 x SATA II 3 Gb/s ports, 4 x USB 3.0/2.0 ports (2 on the back panel, 2 through the internal USB headers), and 8 x USB 2.0/1.1 ports (4 on the back panel, 4 available through the internal USB headers). For PCIe expansion, there is 1 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot (running at x16), 2 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots, and 1 x PCI slot.

Graphically, this motherboard supports integrated Intel HD Graphics with up to 1GB of shared memory. When connected via the two HDMI ports, resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz or 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz are supported. When its single DVI-I or D-Sub (VGA) port is connected, a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 is achieved. The DVI-D port does not support a D-Sub connection using an adapter.

Network connectivity is achieved using the Realtek GbE LAN chip and the Realtek ALC8876 codec supports High Definition audio in 2, 4, 5.1, and 7.1-channel configurations. Support for ON/OFF Charge also lets users charge their USB-compatible devices whether their system is on, off, or in standby, and the 3x USB Power feature helps devices charge faster and draw more current from the motherboard than a standard USB port would allow.
