The Glass Build Plate for Replicator 2 from MakerBot is a substitute for the build platform that comes installed in your MakerBot Replicator 2. Made of chemically-strengthened soda lime glass, this build plate is 6-8 times stronger than regular glass, and significantly heavier than the acrylic build plate that comes with the Replicator 2.
With a tolerance of ± 50 microns, this flat, heavy, heat-resistant glass is intended to help produce higher quality prints that are less prone to warping or curling.
