The Movcam MM102 MB Cine Base Sony NEX-FS700 Kit 2 combines a tripod-mount 16x9 FS700 Cine Base baseplate kit with a clamp-on mattebox, a clamp-on follow focus, and accompanying accessories. The baseplate kit includes a top spacer for aligning an FS700 with a mattebox and follow focus.
The mattebox features a robust 16:9 carbon fibre hood with a top flag, two side flags, and two 4 x 5.65" (10.1 x 14.3 cm) filter holders. The mattebox clamps onto the included rods but can alternatively be attached directly to a lens by means of a rear clamp. One filter holder is fixed and the second rotates 360°, facilitating adjustment of polarisers and other types of filters. A 144 mm clamp adapter is included, and step-down rings are separately available. Attached to the back of the mattebox is a stretch doughnut that blocks extraneous light from coming from behind.
The follow focus features a 0.8 pitch for cine lenses, and a flexi-ring is included for still lenses. The follow focus adjusts to different lens sized via a sliding base and achieves precise focus by constant damping.
