The SmallRig 5397 Mounting Clamp for External SSD securely holds portable SSDs (40 -60mm wide x 8 - 17mm thick / 1.6 - 2.4in wide x 0.3-0.7in thick) on camera cages and L-shape mount plates featuring 1/4"-20 threaded holes and MagSafe-compatible iPhones.
Compatible SSD models include: Samsung T5 / T5 EVO / T7 / T7 Shield / T9 / T9 Shield; SanDisk E30 / E61 / E81; Crucial X9 / X9 PRO Mac / X10 PRO; WD WD_BLACK P40 (500GB - 2TB) / My Passport (500GB - 4TB).
Unlike traditional spring-loaded clamps, this mount features a controlled opening for safe and easy two-step installation. With two installation methods ( 1/4"-20 screw and MagSafe), it offers a versatile SSD support solution for camera rigs or iPhone setups. Additionally, the internal silicone pads protect SSDs from scratches and slippage.
Installation Options:
1/4″-20 Screws: Use two 1/4"-20 screws to secure the clamp to the side of the cage
MagSafe: Attach the clamp directly to the back of iPhone 12 - 16 models via MagSafe
Note:
When using with a case, ensure secure attachment between phone and case.
Clamping range: SSDs within 40-60mm / 1.6 - 2.4in width and 8-17mm / 0.3 - 0.7in thickness.
Non-MagSafe phones can be mounted using a magnetic metal ring (not included).
