The SmallRig Mounting Plate with NATO Rail & Cable Clamp for Atomos Shogun 7 features a NATO rail that allows attaching the Shogun 7 monitor/recorder to NATO rail clamps, such as the SmallRig 2071 Articulating Arm NATO Clamp and 2205 Monitor Mount with NATO Clamp. It's designed to discretely attach to the top or bottom of the monitor, securing into the 1/4"-20 thread and anti-twist safety pin slots there. It secures using an included 1/4"-20 screw and built-in locating pins.
On the side of the Mounting Plate are two screw holes. This is where the included custom HDMI Cable Clamp attaches in order to protect your monitor cable from accidental removal. The Cable Clamp can also be removed whenever you don't want it used. The Mounting Plate by itself, as well as together with the Cable Clamp, is also compatible with the original Atomos Shogun 7 sun hood.
