The Tilta 15mm Baseplate / Dovetail Plate for Sony F5/F55 is a 15mm rod support system designed for the Sony CineAlta PMW-F5 and PMW-F55 digital cinema cameras. The combo design features a baseplate with adjustable 15mm rod ports, 5" and 10" dovetail plates for better balancing of rigs on tripods, and solid machined aluminum construction. Two sets of 15mm rod pairs come included, in lengths of 7.87" and 11.8".
Your Sony F5 or F55 camera mounts to the baseplate via a 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 screw. Ports are available for using 15mm rod pairs. Levers on the side of the baseplate allow for adjusting the position of the rods. The baseplate also has two Arri compatible rosettes on each side for connecting dog bones, handles, or other accessories. For mounting the baseplate onto tripods, two dovetail plates are provided. The dovetail plate is attached to the tripod using the provided 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads. The baseplate slides onto the dovetail plate, letting you quickly attach and release your entire rig from the tripod.
The 5" dovetail plate is suitable for smaller rigs, while the 10" plate allows larger rigs to be centered and balanced. The 10" dovetail plate locks in via a lever on the side of the baseplate, and the 5" dovetail plate locks in with a thumb screw. Both dovetail plates have safety stops on both ends.
