The Vox AC15HW1 is a 15W RMS combo amplifier sporting a 1x12" Celestion G12M Greenback speaker. The unit boasts a full tube complement—three preamp tubes, two power-amp tubes, and rectifier tube—while its front panel offers you two independent channels, with each channel providing both high and low input jacks. This gives you a total of four ways of plugging into the amp. Also, each element of the turret board has been hand-wired to ensure the most efficient signal path.
A Tone Cut control across the power-amp section affords you a generalised way of tweaking the high end in your guitar signal; however, for further fine-tuning of EQ, plug into the Top Boost channel, which offers Bass, Treble, and a Hot/Cool switch—a handy feature which partially bypasses the tone controls to provide more gain and a purer signal path. As this Hot/Cool switch can be toggled via an independent foot-switch, this feature can be utilised to give you some more juice for lead parts and soloing.
