Description

The BOYA BY-M1 Lavalier Microphone is compatible with smartphones, audio recorders, Mac and Windows computers, and other devices enabled for 3.5mm TRRS jacks. The omnidirectional pickup pattern is equipped with full, 360° coverage and the 6m cable terminates with a 3.5mm TRRS gold-plated mini-jack plug.

The lavalier microphone is powered by an LR44 battery (included) and is equipped with a switch to turn the battery off or on. When using the microphone with a smartphone toggle the switch off since power is supplied by the smartphone. To operate with a camera, toggle the switch on to use the battery power. A 1/4" adapter, foam windscreen, and microphone clip are also included.

Used in my YouTube live streams as an artist. The long cord is perfect for me as I need to grab other things around my studio. Can't beat the price. The sound is pretty good via OBS. I have added a filter in my OBS audio for it, Gain + 10db as I found it a bit quiet out of the box. As a starter mic it is perfect. Expect the wind sock to fall off within 20 seconds of use though and disappear under the furniture.... I don't use the windsock

The cable is long and sometimes cumbersome, but I ALWAYS keep this guy in my kit, because when others let you down, he doesn’t. The clip is a bit crap, but again, it’s worth it.
