Universal Camera Cage
With the Halo Universal Camera Cage, any camera can be set up for rigging in moments. The Halo forms a square around the camera body, striking a balance between clearance for large cameras and a compact form factor. This means that any camera, from the compact Sony FX30 up to the ultra-powerful RED V-RAPTOR XL, can be mounted.
Dovetail Design
Complete the cage with our Universal Dovetail, which mounts via the included 15mm LWS Rod Bracket to form a base for any camera. The Dovetail is the only one of its kind to have dual compatibility with Manfrotto tripods and DJI gimbals, allowing you to seamlessly transition from mount to mount.
Clearance for Compact Cameras
The issue with a majority of hybrid and compact cinema cameras is the minimal distance from the lens mount to the base of the camera, which causes lenses to collide with many standard dovetails. With the included Arca Riser and Arca Receiver, the camera is elevated so that lenses don’t clash with the dovetail. This doubles as a quick-release system, meaning that you can easily remove your camera from the rig for adjusting settings or swapping out lenses.
Clean Rigging
Wrapping around your camera body, the Halo offers a huge range of accessory mounting points for you to use. Along with industry-standard screw threads (1/4” and 3/8”), the Halo also offers MAP and QD sockets, a cold shoe mount and NATO rails. Able to take up to 10kg of load without flexing, you have huge scope for accessorising your rig.

The Halo Universal Base Kit for Small Cameras makes professional camera setups more accessible. You don’t need a dozen different Hex Keys or a batch of dedicated risers or spacers: everything fits together cleanly and efficiently onto 15mm support rods – which are included in the Kit.

Instructions/Assembly
The Halo Universal Base Kit for Small Cameras ships partially pre-assembled. You will require a flathead screwdriver and 4mm Hex Key in order to assemble it.
15mm LWS Rod Bracket to Dovetail
- Align the two 3/8” screws on the top of the rod bracket with the threads on the base of the dovetail.
- Use a 4mm Hex Key to tighten both screws into place.
Rods to Rod Bracket
- Slide the 15mm rods into their bracket until correctly positioned.
- Use the lever clamps to tighten each bracket and secure the rods in place.
Halo to Rods
- Slide the completed Halo onto the 15mm rods.
- Use the two lever clamps to tighten each bracket when in the optimal position.
Arca Riser to Camera
- Align the 1/4”-20 screw thread with the base of your camera.
- Use the D-Ring screw to tighten the Riser to your camera body.
Arca Receiver to Universal Dovetail
- Align the Receiver in the central channel of the Universal Dovetail and insert the two 1/4""-20 screws.
- Use a flathead screwdriver secure the two together.
Arca Riser to Arca Receiver
- Slide your Arca plate sideways along the Arca Receiver (following the direction indicated by the arrows).
- When clicked into place with the safety stops, secure with the locking lever.
Compatibility
The Halo Universal Base Kit for Small Cameras is compatible with any camera, large or small. The Arca Riser and Arca Receiver provide clearance for compact camera bodies, but the Halo Kit can be used without them for larger models where lens mounts are higher.
