The Canare EO-500-55 AES-3id Electrical to Optical Converter multiplexes and optically converts AES signals from up to 8 ports (16 audio channels) to allow them to be transmitted over long distances. Further, the converter uses coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) to allow AES signals from up to 64 ports (128 audio channels) to be transmitted via a single fiber-optic cable.
