The DPA MMC4018 Supercardioid Microphone Capsule is a modular microphone capsule that has a highly directional supercardioid pickup pattern with a smooth and uniform off-axis frequency response. It can be used in a broad range of broadcast/ENG/film long-distance miking applications for booming, dialogue, podiums, interviews, and more. In addition, it can be used as a spot or hanging mic for orchestra recordings too.
The capsule's supercardioid shape is frequency-independent, securing an identical sound colour around the microphone. The usual rear lobe heard on most supercardioids is minimised on the 4018 capsule, which makes it much more isolated without the sudden frequency-dependant peaks and dips. Combine the MMC4018 with any of the pre-amps in the d:dicate modular series to fit your needs (sold separately).
