The Electro-Harmonix Nano Operation Overload delivers a compact, streamlined, and mono take on its predecessor, retaining the essential qualities of a classic distortion pedal. Centered around three JFET gain stages, this pedal produces rich saturation that emulates the warmth and response of a tube amplifier.
Features and Controls
Beyond standard overdrive functionality, the Nano Operation Overload incorporates a selectable Boost button that lets you intensify the effect on demand. For enhanced versatility during live performance, there’s also a footswitch input, allowing you to control the Boost via a separately available footswitch. By engaging the Boost circuit, users can further drive the pedal’s distortion, similar to stacking a stompbox overdrive in front of the JEFT stage to achieve even higher levels of saturation.
Versatile Tone Shaping
The pedal is equipped with a three-knob tone stack, offering comprehensive control over your sound. It also features a three-position input level selector to accommodate a wide range of instruments, including single-coil and humbucker-equipped guitars, as well as both vintage and modern keyboards. In addition to the conventional Volume and Gain controls, there’s a dedicated Dry knob, which blends your unaffected signal back into the output. This function is especially useful for bassists and keyboard players who need to maintain the harmonic integrity of their original tone.
