The Harrison Audio 32Cpre+ 500 Series Microphone Preamp brings the high-performance microphone preamp from the classic Harrison 32Classic studio console into a 500 Series format, pairing it with Harrison’s renowned low-pass and high-pass filters. Equally well suited to tracking and mixing, the 32Cpre+ features a Jensen JT-MB-CPCA transformer-coupled preamp that provides +20 to +70 dB of gain, delivering the warm, rich Harrison tone that helped shape some of the most iconic albums of the 1970s and 1980s.
Legacy in Analog
Harrison consoles have played a role in creating some of the most respected and influential music in recording history. Michael Jackson, ABBA, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Donald Fagan, and many other legendary artists have relied on Harrison production tools to help craft their multiplatinum albums.
Harrison’s latest range of 500 Series modules captures the sound and features trusted by engineers such as Bruce Swedien, Roger Nichols, and Reinhold Mack to create music that continues to endure.
The Harrison Tone
The 32Cpre+ delivers the warm, rich sound for which Harrison is celebrated. Expect a full low end, an open midrange, and exceptionally smooth, natural highs from this Jensen JT-MB-CPCA transformer-coupled mic pre.
The gentle roll-off at both ends of the frequency spectrum, along with the subtle phase shift created by the 1:1 ratio transformer, results in a mic pre that sounds sweet and musical on virtually any source.
Tools for Tracking
The 32Cpre+ provides +20 to +70 dB of smooth gain, making it capable of driving a wide range of microphone types, including ribbon microphones.
In addition to 180° phase, 48 V, -20 dB pad, and Hi-Z impedance switches, the front panel includes a combo XLR-6.35 mm jack connector. This allows you to connect a microphone or instrument directly to the 32Cpre+ without needing to access the rear panel of the 500 Series rack.
Legendary Harrison Filters
The 32Cpre+ mic pre includes the company’s legendary filters. As featured in both the original 3232 and the latest 32Classic consoles, the high-pass and low-pass filters offer a musical 12 dB/octave slope, with the high-pass filter also featuring a distinctive 3 dB resonant peak.
The high-pass filter range extends from 25 Hz to 3.1 kHz, while the low-pass filter covers 160 Hz to 20 kHz.
