Pentax's DCF HS series of binoculars borrow many cues from the flagship DCF SP lineup, such as the similar focusing dial and eyecup design, but do so with a more approachable pricing. The bodies of the DCF HS series, available in either a 8x or 10x magnification, are highly water resistant but are ultimately not waterproof. There are many fully waterproof units that are less expensive than these, but they cannot compete with the optical quality of the DCF HS with its fully multicoated elements and phase coated roof prisms.
