The Pigtronix ATS Gloamer Polyphonic Synth Pedal is an all-analog, polyphonic amplitude synthesizer designed to manipulate the attack and decay times of any sound source while preserving the integrity and richness of the original tone. It stands out for its unique attack feature, delivering a pick-triggered volume swell reminiscent of cinematic "slow gear" effects. The timing for this swell can be finely adjusted, ranging from rapid to gradual shifts. Muting the sound resets the volume swell cycle instantly, enabling musicians to effortlessly craft lines and chords that evoke the feel of bowed strings.
Gloamer also incorporates a versatile optical compressor, which gives the option of infusing your sound with anything from a gentle punch to overwhelming sustain. This compressor maintains a smooth and consistent swell even when very long attack times are selected. Additional controls include a Volume knob, which sets loudness at the apex of the attack, and a master Blend control that lets you mix a clean, uncompressed signal with the effected sound.
The Decay function, when engaged, causes notes to gradually fade after the attack phase completes. Once the decay finishes, an auto-reset feature immediately restarts the attack sequence as long as there's incoming audio, opening up possibilities for undulating, asymmetrical tremolos at slower speeds and pulsating stutter effects at faster attack and decay settings. With its comprehensive analog features, Gloamer offers a diverse palette for dynamic sound shaping and expressive performance.
