By incorporating the newly developed highlight diffusion filter (HDF), the Ricoh GR IIIx HDF Digital Camera gives users enhanced control over the style of their images without compromising image quality. When HDF is enabled, captures are noticeably softer with a focus on highlighting, resulting in a nostalgic aesthetic that resembles film photography or vintage movies. The default setting of the Fn button now allows for easy toggling of HDF. Additionally, this model stands out with a dark silver shutter-release button, setting it apart from previous GR series models. Lastly, the new firmware enables preprogramming of Zone Select AF and up to three white-balance settings as the base white balance.
