By selectively filtering out light that has been polarized through reflection off non-metallic surfaces, this filter noticeably enhances the saturation of skies and foliage and provides clearer images when shooting in hazy conditions. Unlike traditional True-Pol linear polarizers, the Circular True-Pol is especially advantageous with cameras that utilize polarizing elements in their viewing system’s beam-splitter—such as the Arriflex 435 and MovieCam Compact—by preventing viewfinder blackout.
