Sigma introduces the Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art Lens, the world's first zoom lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras with an f/1.8 aperture throughout the entire zoom range. With a wide-to-normal focal range and prime-like optical performance, this lens offers high-quality images and a video-friendly design. It consists of 18 elements in 15 groups, including three aspherical and five Special Low Dispersion elements to minimize flare, ghosting, and aberrations. The lens's 11-blade, rounded diaphragm contributes to sharpness and a smooth bokeh effect when shooting wide open.
The lens maintains a minimum focusing distance of 11.9" across the zoom range, allowing for versatile close-up shots. At its longest focal length, it achieves a maximum magnification ratio of 1:4, providing increased depth of field and flexibility in tight spaces.
Designed with video creation in mind, this lens combines a bright f/1.8 aperture with a wide-to-normal zoom range, making it ideal for solo shooters and run-and-gun setups. Its internal zoom design keeps the lens length consistent, facilitating easy balancing on gimbals. The lens also minimizes focus breathing, ensuring smooth focus transitions. Sigma's high-speed, high-response linear actuator autofocus system provides quiet and accurate focusing, while click and lock mechanisms improve manual focusing.
