Description
The Sirui SH25 Aluminium Video Tripod with Fluid Head is designed as an affordable solution with a highly professional appearance. The system includes a lightweight 2-stage aluminium tripod with a 75mm bowl and a compact fluid head with a 10 kg payload. A mid-level spreader comes built-in to ensure increased stability, and the working height ranges from 91.6 to 190 cm. Oversized twist leg locks along the tripod legs allow for quick and easy height adjustments.
The fluid head offers 360° pan rotation with an independent pan lock, and tilt is adjustable from -75 to 90°. A pan bar is included for rosette-mount attachment on the right side of the head. The supplied camera plate, in addition to rubber padding, also features two red anti-twist flip locks that can be raised to keep the camera from shifting or twisting. These flip locks are especially useful for DSLR-style camera bodies.
The tripod has dual spiked feet and also includes rubber shoes that attach onto the spiked feet. Between these two options, the tripod can be used on smooth surfaces as well as soft and uneven outdoor terrain. When the tripod is folded, integrated leg buckles secure the legs for safer storage or transport. A padded, zippered, soft carry case completes the system and provides a convenient way of getting the SH25 where you need to go.

There's no avoiding the fact that this is a $300 tripod. But it's a very good $300 tripod. The legs feel solid and have a strong lock. They extend easily and leveling is simple. The head feels strong and sound, and has easy to operate controls where you expect them. No part of the tripod feels flimsy or likely to immediately fail. But, the lack of fluid damping on the tilt does show itself. It is possible to add some manageable drab with the tilt friction, but without the fluid the tilts are never quite a smooth as the pans (where the fluid damping works well and feels satisfying). Overall though, it's hard to fault this tripod for the price. It's well constructed, easy to operate and feels secure. It's also lightweight. My biggest complaints would actually be with the tripod bag which is definitely a bag that fits the tripod, but not much more. It is not, as the description suggests, "padded" in any meaningful way. The fabric is fine, but feels like it will wear quickly, and there is no shoulder strap or any way to attach one, meaning there's no slinging this over your shoulder while also carrying a couple of cases. Additionally if you're using a camera that has a VCT14 camera plate, there's no pocket in the bag to hold it, so it'll either be sliding around in the bag, or you'll have to find somewhere else to keep it. If you want a stable and easy to operate video tripod it seems like it would be hard to beat this for the price. I don't know that I'd choose it for everyday use, but if you're setting up and leaving it, or only taking your kit out occasionally then it feels like a solid choice on a budget.Read more Read less
