The Sonnet SxS PRO X Thunderbolt 3 Single-Slot Card Reader is a compact and professional card reader designed for computers with Thunderbolt 3 ports. It is specifically compatible with SxS PRO X cards, which offer significantly faster read speeds compared to the previous generation. In addition to SxS PRO X, this card reader can also be used with SxS PRO+ E, SxS PRO+ D, SxS PRO+, SxS PRO, SxS-1, and SxS cards. Adapters are available for using XQD and SD cards.

Designed by Sonnet, this card reader is capable of high-speed data transfers, reaching up to 1250 MB/s for SxS PRO X cards and 440 MB/s for SxS PRO+ media. It is compact and rugged with an aluminium enclosure, making it suitable for professional use. The device is bus powered and compatible with both Windows and Mac systems. Windows users can connect it using Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, or USB4 ports, while Mac users are limited to Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. The package includes a 1.6' Thunderbolt 3 cable and a ThunderLok3 retainer clip to prevent accidental cable disconnections.

Please be aware that this card reader is not currently compatible with M1 Macs. However, a Sony M1-compatible driver for SxS cards is expected to be released in the future. It's also worth noting that Sony AXS media is not supported by this card reader.
