Strymon EC-1 Single Head dTape Echo Pedal

For harmonically rich, vintage-inspired tape delay effects, look to the Strymon EC-1 Single Head dTape Echo Pedal. At its core, the EC-1 carries the heart and soul of traditional tape echo units, using meticulously crafted tube-modeling techniques to capture the lush, dynamic eccentricities of classic tape delay machines. You can dial in everything from classic slapback-style delays to longer, more atmospheric soundscapes, while also fine-tuning your sound’s response and overall character. The tone-shaping possibilities are extensive, ranging from clean, subtle, shimmering echoes to unpredictable, distorted echo trails. Mono and stereo outputs, along with buffered or true bypass operation, ensure the EC-1 can adapt to nearly any studio or live setup. The integrated tap tempo lets you select your delay time without introducing extra pops or unwanted noise into your signal — something impossible with a genuine tape echo. Finally, the EXP/MIDI input expands user control even further. Whether you’re re-creating the psychedelic sounds of the past or adding texture to a fresh musical tapestry, the EC-1 integrates seamlessly with the rest of your rig.
