The Tiffen 58mm Black Satin 1/4 Filter is designed to decrease the overall contrast of an image and provide greater control over highlights in a scene. Along with adding a rougher, more granular appearance to highlights, this screw-in filter also subtly softens facial imperfections and wrinkles, resulting in a natural and polished look.
This filter is crafted from water white glass and produced using ColorCore technology. ColorCore involves sandwiching the filter substrate between two sheets of optical glass, grinding it to an accuracy of 0.0001 inches, and securing it to precisely machined metal rings.
