Description

Designed to offer classic tube sound in a miniaturised form factor, the VOX MV50 Clean 50W Amplifier Head amplifier head from VOX measures 13.5 x 7.5 x 10 cm, providing 50W of power, and is capable of driving cabinets at four, eight, and 16 Ohms. The amplifier accomplishes this feat thanks in no small part to an all-analogue preamp circuit utilising Nutube technology, as well as analogue components which can reproduce the character of traditional American tube amplifiers, delivering warm, natural-sounding clean tones and plenty of headroom. A class D power amp complements the preamp, giving the MV50 the ability to produce enough volume for any situation and respond to the nuances of your guitar, as well as the dynamics of your playing technique. In addition to delivering warm and sparkling clean tones, when driven to its hilt and played aggressively, the MV50 will respond with pleasing and subtle overdrive.

The MV50 Clean provides one 1/4" guitar input, one 1/4" speaker output, and a 1/4" headphone/line output. Volume, bass, and treble controls are provided to tweak the amp's tone and output. A switch on the back of the amplifier allows you to attenuate the output power in three stages. With this switch, you can use full power or lower the output level by 10 or 20 dB. A VU metre is also included to display the amp's output level.

To suit a wide variety of cabinets, an AEQ switch on the rear of the amp head has been provided, giving you two tone-shaping options. Deep mode puts the emphasis on the low-frequency range and is particularly useful with smaller cabinets; Flat mode, on the other hand, allows you to take full advantage of a larger speaker’s inherent tonal characteristics. The 1/4" headphone/line output utilises a cabinet simulation circuit to offer you the full sound of an amplifier/head combo when routing the signal to headphones, DIs, recording interfaces, mixers, PAs, and more.
