The StarTech 4-Port USB DVI KVM Switch allows you to use one monitor, keyboard, and mouse to display and control up to 4 separate computers. This switch provides four USB type B and four DVI-I ports for the host computers. Your peripheral set connects via a DVI-I and two USB type A ports. Other interfaces included are a RJ-45 port and an integrated two-port USB 2.0 hub to share additional peripherals.
This switch supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 when connected to a host computer and monitor. Furthermore, this switch uses USB Dynamic Device Mapping and a dual-core design to switch quickly between host computers with next-to-zero delay. This feature works by maintaining a constant communication between all devices to prevent the host computer from re-recognising the keyboard and mouse. In addition, the KVM provides Display Data Channel technology to maintain proper display detection among the host computers. Switching between the host computers can be done by using the one-touch button or hot-keys. Included with the switch are four 6' DVI-D USB KVM cables, firmware upgrade cable, and a universal power adapter.
